Baby Photography

• Right from the moment the baby is born till it becomes 6 months old, if the photographer takes cute pictures of just the ears, toes, nose, eyes, hands, feet etc, this results in magical and captivating pictures

• The photographer can trap the charming features and expressions of the baby by moving in close either physically or through a telephoto lens
• Generally, babies are not placed in direct sunlight. This is in the interest of the baby as well as results in a cute baby image. However, if the baby is in direct sunlight, a good idea is to use fill flash to decrease contrast
• If the photo is to be taken indoors at night, the photographer does not have may good alternatives except using a flash
• Capturing the image in natural light would result in a softer and realistic look particularly in case of clothing, eyes and skin tones. A point to note is that this method must be used when the baby is totally motionless. Else, there would be a blurred image
• While taking a photo during the day in the house, it is essential to pull the drapes back, open the windows and crank up the ISO. Then, the baby must be moved to where the light is optimum
• If the baby is in somebody's arms or on a car seat or in a crib, the photographer must bend down to the position of the baby prior to taking the photo. If the baby is lying on the floor or a bed, the photographer must position himself/herself adjacent to them

• Small child having a flower in his/her hands. This must be a close-up of the chubby little hands, face and flower

• Young child, reaching for an ornament on a Christmas tree
• Child taking a bath with a frog - the frog must be placed on the side of the tub and the child must try to touch it
• Small child picking or smelling flower after bending over
